Expertise, Trust and Partnership in Change

Breda Flaherty

Breda Flaherty is an experienced organisation development consultant, leadership programme designer and director, and individual coach. Breda is intrigued by professional cultures at work, and how these impact on the ways services change and develop.

In 1992 she founded the consultancy BFA Development through which she and colleagues offer high quality continuing development for Medical Leaders, Executives, Clinicians and Practitioners across the UK NHS and for local authority leaders and practitioners across the social care sector. Breda holds a Leadership Associateship at the Kings Fund, and a Senior Lectureship at Brighton & Sussex Medical School.

Breda leads leadership development programmes, and leads service change projects in local services; she works with service leads and staff on service management, and quality issues.

Breda coaches individual leaders and practitioners on individual professional and career development issues, and on their individual leadership approach to the service issues facing their organisations and services.

Breda teaches at Masters level at the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine, Brighton and Sussex Medical School, where she is MSc Course Leader for Commissioning in Health & Social Care, and joint course leader for the MSc in Leadership and Management in Health Care, including the Management & Leadership for Doctors postgraduate modules.
